ABOUT
I was born in London and am now living near Alicante, in Spain. My love of experimenting with acrylic paints, clay and felt combined with fabrics, results in quirky and original pieces.
After gaining a B.A. (Hons.) degree in Fashion from Harrow College of Art in London, I feel proud to have been awarded “Young Designer of the Year” in 1986 by the Arts Council of Great Britain. Subsequently, I ran my own couture bridal business then moved to Spain in 2004. Nurturing a drive to diversify my artistic offering, I studied ceramics at the EASDA Art School of Alicante, followed by tutoring and mentoring by a renowned Belgian sculptor. |
In 2006 I held my first exhibition of paintings in Brampton, near Cambridge, England and was later invited to exhibit my ceramic work for a competition in 2010 at the Museum of Ceramics in Agost, Spain, where I was thrilled to have been awarded first prize.
Drawing on my skills as a former ballet dancer and bridal wear designer, I enjoy adding a sense of movement and theatricality to my work, particularly in the quest for new techniques to produce unusual effects. When I take a moment to stop and reminisce, I feel truly grateful for having experienced such a wonderfully rich, artistic journey. |
